Common issues

Which devices can run Frame Photos?

Frame Photos runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android phones, and Android tablets. It is available in the App Store; the Android version is coming to Google Play.

My TV isn’t showing up

Make sure your device and Samsung Frame TV are on the same WiFi network. Frame Photos uses local network discovery, so both devices must be connected to the same router. If you have a mesh network, ensure they’re on the same band (2.4GHz or 5GHz). Try restarting the app if the TV still doesn’t appear.

Photos aren’t uploading

Check that your Frame TV is turned on and in Art Mode (or standby with Art Mode enabled). Large photos may take a few seconds to transfer. Frame Photos will show progress during upload. If uploads stall, close and reopen the app.

HEIC conversion failed

Frame Photos converts HEIC photos to JPEG before transferring. If conversion fails, make sure your device is running the latest OS version.

Portrait photos look sideways

In Frame Photos, set the TV orientation to match how your Frame is mounted: Landscape, Portrait Left, or Portrait Right. Portrait albums are intended for portrait-mounted Frames; landscape albums are intended for landscape TVs.

Party Mode is not changing every Frame

Party Mode controls the Frames you select on your local network. Make sure each Frame is powered on or in Art Mode, on the same WiFi, and reachable from the app. If one TV is unavailable, stop Party Mode, refresh the TV list, and start it again with the Frames that respond.

Art Mode isn’t switching

Your Frame TV needs to be in Art Mode before Frame Photos can change the displayed artwork. Switch into Art Mode manually on the TV first, then try again from the app.

Which TV models work?

Frame Photos supports Samsung Frame TV models from 2017 through 2026 (all models tested). This includes The Frame, The Frame Art Mode, and related models that support Samsung’s Art Mode protocol.
