How to upload photos to The Frame TV from your iPhone

To upload photos to The Frame from your iPhone: open Frame Photos on the same WiFi as your TV, pick a photo from your library, set the matte, and send — it appears in Art Mode in seconds. HEIC photos (the iPhone default) are converted automatically, so you don’t have to change any settings first, and you don’t need a Samsung account.

Your favourite photos are already on your iPhone — getting them onto The Frame shouldn’t mean a Samsung account, a cable, or a format you’ve never heard of. Here is exactly how it works with Frame Photos, on every Frame model year from 2017 to 2025.

What you need

  • An iPhone with your photos.
  • A Samsung The Frame TV (any model year from 2017 to 2025).
  • Both on the same home WiFi network.
  • The free Frame Photos app — no Samsung account required.

Upload from your iPhone, step by step

1

Open Frame Photos on the same WiFi

Make sure your iPhone is on the same WiFi network as your Frame, then open Frame Photos. It finds your TV on the network for you — no Samsung account, no SmartThings sign-in. Tap your Frame to connect, and your photos stay on your home network the whole time.

2

Pick a photo and frame it

Choose a photo from your Camera Roll, set the matte colour and width, and crop to taste — you see exactly how it will look framed before anything is sent. HEIC, JPEG and PNG all work, and HEIC (the iPhone default) is converted automatically, so there is nothing to change on your phone first.

3

Send it to your Frame

Tap send and your photo appears full-screen in Art Mode on your Frame in seconds. Your first 4 uploads are free, so you can run the whole flow on your own TV before deciding anything.

Do iPhone HEIC photos work on The Frame?

Yes. HEIC is the format your iPhone saves photos in by default, and Frame Photosconverts it automatically when you upload — nothing to change on your phone. You don’t need to switch your camera to “Most Compatible” or convert anything by hand first. JPEG and PNG work the same way, so whatever is in your library is ready to send to the right size for The Frame.

Can I upload from iPad too?

Yes. Frame Photos runs on iPhone and iPad, and one purchase covers both — pick a photo on whichever device you have to hand, frame it, and send it to your Frame. The flow is the same on either, and it works with every Frame model year from 2017 to 2025. Prefer the full walk-through? See the complete guide to uploading photos to The Frame.
